Operator (MORD, Symbolism, Mindtrip), aka Southcoast UK Techno artist Rich Jones, finally returns to his own label Gnosis Records after a long hiatus, to release two very unique cuts from the very edges of Techno. ‘Crossroad’ is by all accounts right at the intersection of House and Techno, with clear influences from both the UK and Detroit. Heavy warehouse drums and sharp percussion contrast with emotive, MDMA buzz activating chords that carry this simple but powerful track all the way to its faintly jazzy finish. ‘Two Moons Rising’ by contrast is pure UK deep Techno, carrying the listener away on a relaxed but dance floor accessible journey, evocative of summer evenings, the gentle kiss of sand and sea, orange dusk fading away to starlit skies and galactic dreams…
